The Kirkin' o' the Tartan in Montreat
Each year on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, Montreat Presbyterian Church marks the historical origins of Presbyterianism by worshiping with the Montreat Scottish Society’s Kirkin’ o’ the Tartan service in Anderson Auditorium in Montreat.
The Montreat Scottish Society hosts one of the nation’s largest Kirkin’ o’ the Tartan services. The 2025 service, on May 25 at 11:00 A.M., will include guest preacher The Rev. Carol Steele. Vivian Hare is the organist and director of music; Harold Bost will provide special music; and The Montreat Scottish Pipes & Drums will lead the procession of banners.
